Play it safe
As team captain, I will share this agreement and the event rules with every teammate before the hunt begins. Our team will obey all laws and traffic rules, wear seat belts, stay off private property without permission, follow organizer instructions, and skip anything dangerous, illegal, reckless, impaired, or distracted. If a challenge cannot be done safely, we will skip it.
Everyone joins at their own risk
This event is voluntary and involves normal real-world activity: driving, walking, public places, weather, and physical activity. Like any outing, these can lead to property damage, injury, or in rare cases serious harm. Each participant accepts these risks and stays responsible for their own decisions, transportation, medical needs, and property.
Release of claims, including ordinary negligence
To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, I, for myself and my heirs, estate, and representatives, release and hold harmless Mustang Creek Community Church and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and event partners from claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from participation in the scavenger hunt, including claims caused in whole or in part by the ordinary negligence of a released party. This agreement does not release gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot legally be waived.
Your own conduct and emergencies
Each participant is responsible for harm caused by their own unlawful, reckless, or intentional conduct. I authorize reasonable emergency care for myself if needed and accept responsibility for related costs. A parent or legal guardian who agrees for a minor teammate also authorizes reasonable emergency care for that minor and accepts responsibility for related costs.
